The deal, announced Monday by the Department of Defense, is valued at more than $31.8 million under the terms of a fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
The contract from the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division enables Telephonics Corp. to provide 19 multi-mode radar systems for the Coast Guard's HC-27J Spartan aircraft, according to the Defense Department.
The HC-27J Spartan is a medium range surveillance aircraft that has been used in a variety of operations from drug and migrant interdiction operations, to disaster response and tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel.
The contract will also provide engineering technical services and logistics support, according to the Pentagon.
Work on the contract will occur in Farmingdale, N.Y., and is expected to be complete in May 2023.
More than $6.1 million will be obligated to Telephonics Corp. at the time of award from fiscal 2016 Department of Homeland Security Coast Guard acquisition, construction and improvement funds.
The press release said that none of the obligated funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year, the Pentagon said.
