A new surveillance radar system has been introduced by Selex ES at the International Defense Industry Exhibition in Poland.
The system is the Gabbiano TS-80 PLUS, the latest member of the Gabbiano family of radars and features solid state technology to provide the same performance of the Gabbiano T200 system but with less system weight.
The TS-80 weighs 97 pounds, 55 pounds less than the larger system. It also features a 360-degree antenna group with wide-elevation scan, a one-yard-wide flat antenna plate and 80 watts of power.
Selex ES said the Gabbiano family mode suite, which includes air-to-sea surveillance with Track While Scan, high-resolution ground mapping, ship target imaging and classification are also included in the system.
The TS-80 PLUS can be installed on the belly of an aircraft or in the nose.
Additional details of the system were not disclosed.
