Raytheon and Poland's PIT-RADWAR are planning to cooperate in the area of radar systems and sub-systems for the country's military and international market.
The partnering comes under a letter of intent signed recently by the firms and announced by Raytheon this week.
"Raytheon looks forward to its continued partnership with PIT-RADWAR," said Mike Shaughnessy, vice president of Supply Chain, Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems.
"In Spring this year, we signed a contract with them (formerly Bumar Elektronika) on the design and development of a modernized Patriot Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) antenna. These partnerships demonstrate Raytheon's commitment to collaborating with Polish Defense industry on meaningful engineering & technology projects."
Areas for possible cooperation that will be explored include electronic component design and production; radar systems and software; verification, validation and testing; common command-and-control equipment, subsystems and software; and integration of command-and-control software and hardware.
"We are pleased to extend our cooperation with Raytheon," said PIT-RADWAR President Ryszard Kardasz. "We expect this partnership will result in commercial advantages for both sides."
PIT-RADWAR is a part of Polish Armored Group, a group of consolidated producers in the defense sector, and a leading provider of electronics for the Polish military.
